Divisoria is the mecca for people who are looking for great bargains and we went here last Tuesday. Weather was perfectly fine for outdoor shopping, great timing because the following day it was a
rainy day. We came from Imus Cavite, took a bus ride to Baclaran, spent a few minutes at Redemptorist Church, then walked to Baclaran LRT station and hopped on the train going to Carriedo station. From there
we took a jeepney ride going to Divisoria. (just ask around for the jeepney terminal it is just a walk away
from the station). From the Divisoria jeepney stop, we just headed straight and the first landmark we saw was Divisoria Mall. We went first to Tabora Street for yarn and some crochet accessories and here's what we bought.
Pacific Textile Traders
881 Tabora St. Binondo, Manila,
*Milk Cotton (Unknown Supplier)- 3 skein P240 each
*Milk Cotton by Gantsilyo Guru - 4 skein P285 each
total is P1,860.00
For accessories, it was a collection of key rings, key chains, safety eyes, moving eyes and we spent a total of P471.00 at Mark Spencer ChuaTan located at 869 Tabora Street.
We also bought peeler and strainer for 50 each from a houseware store located as well in Tabora Street :)
update: peeler is working fine
Then we went General Shopping Center for textile shopping, it was a maze of textile stores of different types, texture and patterns. Here's the list of what we bought.
canvass cotton (4 yards) - P50/yard (to be used for our dish towel project)
oxford textile (3 yards) - P100/yard (to be used for a polo shirt)
textile for lining (1 yard)- P50/yard (lining for crochet projects
So for our textile shopping, it cost us P550.00
Then we went inside Divisoria Mall for some rest and curtain shopping but we ended up buying a canvass bag for P60 instead of curtains. We plan to do some DIY design. We will show you when it is done.
Btw, curtains were selling for 270-320 per piece, that's 60" width. We think that we have to go to Ilya for the best price.
We plan to go back for more cheap shopping and stories, we can't really say no to the Divisoria charm.
Tip: Bring your large shopping bag if you want to do major shopping. Items are really cheaper here in Divisoria.
